Scott’s Bio

A Brooklyn native, Scott Baio began acting in commercials at a young age. His first big break was in his teens, starring opposite a young Jodie Foster in Bugsy Malone. Later that year he landed a role the iconic series Happy Days. As Chachi Arcola, Scott became an instant teen idol and a household name. During that time he made guest appearances on hit shows The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and The Fall Guy as well as starred in ABC’S Afterschool Specials, for which he received two Daytime Emmy nominations. After seven seasons on Happy Days, Scott took on a new role, that of the title character in Charles In Charge. Scott held on to his status of heartthrob, but also took the opportunity to step behind the camera, directing three dozen episodes of the popular series. He continued directing, helming episodes of The Jamie Foxx Show, Unhappily Ever After and The Wayans Bros.

He has often taken on the role of himself, as seen in the VH1 reality hit Scott Baio is 45… And Single and as host of Confessions of a Teen Idol, on which he served as Executive Producer as well. He also stars as husband to actress Renee Sloan and father to their five year-old daughter. Scott continues to shine in comedic roles as evidenced by his arc on the critically acclaimed series Arrested Development. But he’s also an accomplished dramatic actor, starring in several films, including Very Mean Men with Martin Landau and Matthew Modine.

Most recently, Scott can be seen performing with stage and screen legend Kelsey Grammer in The Kelsey Grammer Bill Zucker Comedy Hour.
